Kevin Reynolds went from the Marines to college to a career in business journalism with increasing levels of responsibility leading to his November, 2021 appointment as editor-in-chief of Condesk, a news service focused on cryptocurrency. , However, his story is anything but straightforward, and neither is this conversation. I started this conversation for what I thought would be a straightforward question – and Kevin’s response took the conversation in an unexpected, but fascinating direction.

The television news business looks glamorous from the outside, but anyone who’s done the job knows that it’s a lot of hard work behind the scenes. TCNJ English department alumna Neeha Curtis knows. She’s worked in television news for the better part of 15 years – as an assistant producer, multimedia reporter, and as an anchor for both local and nationally syndicated news outlets. In this conversation, she traces her journey from her internships at NBC in New York, to stations in Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and Ohio. She also talks about her approach to covering such tough stories as the aftermath of a mass shooting, or the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic on vulnerable families. And she explains the choices that she felt compelled to make about how to present herself on camera as an Indian-American woman.
